Steps to Enroll

NEW and RETURNING students to Oxnard College have to complete the steps below to be admitted and enrolled. All steps can be completed online, but assistance for each step is available if needed.

Contact Admissions and Records if you haven't received your Welcome letter from Oxnard College after 24-48 hours.

Setup Your MyVCCCD Portal

Your acceptance email will be sent to the email specified on your application when you applied to enroll at Oxnard College. It contains a link that allows you to set up and activate your portal. Please ensure that you activate your portal within 20 days of the receipt of the email otherwise the link will become inactive.

Apply for Financial Aid

Applying for Financial Aid can be completed at any step of the enrollment/registration process. However, it is recommended that you complete this step early in order that any financial aid awards you are eligible for be applied towards your registration fees.

Financial Aid Application Description
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Allows US citizens or eligible non-citizens to receive certain types of financial aid.
CDAA (California Dream Act Application) Allows undocumented and nonresident students (U.S. Citizens and eligible non-citizens) who qualify for a non-resident exemption under Assembly Bill 540 (AB 540) to receive certain types of financial aid
CCPG (California College Promise Grant Available for eligible students at California community colleges and waives per-unit tuition.
Financial Aid

Get your English/Math Course Recommendations

Standardized assessment tests are no longer needed for placement into transfer-level English and Math classes at Oxnard College.

Instead, other measures such as GPA, class grades, coursework and self-reported information are used for course placement recommendations in English and Math at Oxnard College.

For a majority of students, multiple measures placement in English and/or Math is received automatically upon completion of the online admission application (CCCApply).

Complete Your Online Orientation

The online orientation is located on the MySuccess tab in your student portal. Please view the orientation and answer the questions correctly to get credit for this service.

Complete an Abbreviated Student Educational Plan (SEP)

A Student Educational Plan (SEP) lists courses and the terms that the which the student plans to take those courses. The SEP is the student's guide to completing their educational goal in the amount of time they project based on their personal circumstances.

The abbreviated SEP is typically one to two semesters in length and is developed with the assistance of a counselor or by the student if he is familiar with creating an educational plan.
